How we started

Newport Beach stretches from the sheltered waters of its harbor to the open Pacific, with the Back Bay, the Balboa Peninsula and the surf at the Wedge all part of the same city. We started Our Newport Beach because those places make for more than a postcard: the harbor draws boaters, the coast draws surfers and beachgoers, and the wetlands offer a quieter way to know where we live.

We write about Newport Beach with that geography in mind. What happens along the waterfront can matter to people well beyond the sand, just as changes inland can shape a day at the shore.
